HEllo. Did a search for this put either I am not finding the right posts or the info is not out there.

I want to buy the long travel Bilsteins to take advantage of the extra travel that my Calmini shackles will give me....does someone know the part # so I don't have to order them through SLR?

SLR lists them as "BL5-10"....is that what I need to take to another store and purchase them?

Thanks

CJ

PS. I have the standard OWM Bilstein on in the rear right now....they don't have enough travel to take advantage of the shackle right?

That's correct.

If you want the non-OE valving you'll need to order from SLR or maybe one of the other off-road outfits. If you want to stick with OE valving, the part number is B46-2126 (they are the stock shocks on '93-'00 4wd T100s).

I've got them on my truck and they allow full droop and don't limit uptravel at all. One caveat is that they are a bit thicker than stock, so the rear swaybar may bang into the rear passenger side shock when that side is at full droop (but even my stock shocks were dented up by the swaybar after the shackles went on). I ended up just taking it off.

Also, the best price that I could find was at eshocks, and I had them in less than a week (as you may know, SLR has had some pretty serious customer service issues).

Thanks for the informaiton....so let me see if I have this right...just want to make sure I am ording the right thing.

Go to eshocks.com....and order the B46-2126 .....these are Xterra OEM valving long travel shocks ....just to confirm? Sorry.....just want to make sure before I drop $140 on these. I don't mind them being extra thick since I have my sway bar off so it wont be an issue....but thanks for pointing that out. [Wave]

Any more infor is much appreciated.

And our right....trying to stay clear of being another SLR victim.

Yes, for the rear shocks you can just select Toyota, then T100, then rear shocks for the 4wd model - and you should see B46-2126 shocks - those are OE valved Xterra long travel shocks (that still allow enough compression).

You may be able to get a better price somewhere else, but a couple of years ago they had the best price (and great service).

Just an aside - I ordered my shocks, and several other parts from SLR, never had any problem....I think the SLR issues were a couple of years ago at least....and I've had Calmini and AC orders screwed up, but never SLR's.

I think most of the off road type stores seem to have cyclic problems from time to time, and fall behind with orders, not calling people back, etc...because they are run by enthusiasts, not by business majors, etc.

So even though AC or Calmini may screw up from time to time, I still order from them too...I'd hate to see any one making X stuff go out of business.

PS - If you are going to add armor, winches, bumpers, lots of spare parts/tools, etc...you might want to up the stiffness a bit to help off road off camber control, and on road handling...I did 20% stiffer and itsd worked out really well...rides better than stock.

That is a great point. Is it correct that SLR is the only grounp that sells the "long travel" 20% stiffer shocks for the Xterra?

If so is it the BL5-10 they have listed on their site?

Maybe I will give them a try after all

(20% stiffer, extended travel)

Just figure out what size you need. I am using the 5150's for now with Deaver springs and the 6" shackles. You can get them through any offroad shop or eshocks. The 5150's are pretty common and for a "cheaper" remote shock they work.

PNWBEERS,

You said you have the T100 Bilsteins on the back of your X. What is your setup? DO you only have shackles in the rear? I am concerned that this will limit compression........but you can confirm once again that it doesn't...and yuo still get the full droop out of your suspension.

I will only have 1.5" Calmini shackles in the rear....nothing else. Sorry for asking the same question three times basically but when I pay the money it is gone so want to make it right.

Thanks
