Got one too. After some drama.

Cashier rang me up (entered the coupon code and everything) then when the time came to actually get the HD from the "room" the store manager said it was an error and the computer should not have accepted the coupon.

Back and forth bickering.. (recipt in hand) the manager said he was going to just refund my purchase. I told him I did not authorize any other activity on my credit card.. bla bla bla..

I then told him he could either give me the product I had a recipt for or I would call the cops.. He thought I was joking..

Cops show up.. this guys is freaked out and ends up handing me the product and telling the cops there was a misunderstanding.

Now Im back at home drinking hot coco and hooking up my extra storage.

Nice one - lol. Sorry for the Drama, I was tempted to try for another one at another store. The manager (A Chick) actually rung me up on the first one and didn't even blink about giving me the offer.

The cashiers thought it was funny and said that if it worked they were going to buy one for themselves.

Just called my local Office Max and they have it priced at $299 before the rebate, $150 is still a good deal, will report back shortly.

I just picked one up. $99 as advertised on here. Someone at corporate screwed the pooch on this one.

I should add that the HD's in the box are Western Digitals.

Nice. Even the store managers who don't think it's right don't seem to be able to actually decline the offer, everyone is so reliant on what the computer tells them these days.

I picked up another one at an OM on my way to work this morning to Ebay in a month or so - once Ebay is clear of the flood of them on there right now.

Yeah, I got the dumbass cashier who's never used a coupon before, so the manger comes over and reads the coupon...gets to the point where it says cannot be used with any other offer and says sorry. As the price of $249.99 is an instant rebate.

Will be trying it with at least another store this afternoon.

Switching mine to RAID1 and gonna use it to backup my computers / photos / MP3's etc. Will add a bit of redundancy into my non-backup life! laugh

Nope, no joy at either of the Colorado stores that were known to honor the deal.

Reading the Thread on Slickdeals, it looks like a Corporate email went out and all of the managers are now in threat for their jobs if they honor the deal! lol. Oh well - it was good while it lasted. I'm sure the majority of stock in the country was wiped out yesterday anyway - the offer appeared on a bunch of deal sites.
