My wife was complianing about a click noise when she started moving everytime after start up, so I took it for a spin. After every start up at between 12 and 15 mph no mater weither in 1st gear or drive there is a noticiable click somewhere under the vehicle around your right foot (while in the drivers seat). It sorta sounds like a solinoid energizing. Was wondering if anyone else is noticing this in their 05. The xterra is a 4x4 s model. Thanks for any input.

I guess the more things change the more they stay the same.

A)ABS Self-Check

B) Lifters

C) A bomb has been placed under the vehicle next to your feet and you need to exit the vehicle immediately.

I'm guessing it's more than likely A or B. If it's either it's normal.

Pretty sure its not Lifters it only clicks once after every start up once started it doesnt do it again. I searched for bombs and didnt find any so lets hope its abs. I will find out soon and let yall know.

Hey the manual does have all the answers! Page 5-28, it is a self test feature of the ABS. Normal sound!

Sounds like the exact same thing from the 1st gen.

I really can't stress enough to ALL newbies to do some searches on this entire site. Lots of info... 5 years worth.

The clicking noise is normal and expected...
