#45362 - 28/03/05 10:00 AM Rear diff drain plug backed out?

Quick Q - glancing under my new '04 X, I noticed the rear differential drain plug appears to be backed out of the hole a bit. I can see threads on the plug itself, and it is probably 1/4" out of the differential. I've heard of X's with loose drain plugs from the factory and am wondering if I'm one of the lucky. fyi - work schedule and rain is keeping me from just crawling under there and checking, but even if it is tight, having it stick out is just asking for a rock to scrape it off. Does your rear diff drain plug appear to stick out a bit more than you'd think it should?

It's normal to see a couple rounds of threads.

If it is leaking you will notice it quick. When I purchased mine it was loose from the factory. I think I drove it 200 miles before I noticed the back hatch covered in diff. fluid. Also check the ground where truck is parked.
