So since I'm in no hurry to get my 2005 Xterra, I was wondering if anybody new about when they would end their production. I will more than likely order mine since it seems that they are flying off the lot and one dealer already offered 400.00 over invoice even with ordering. When purchasing my 2000, I waited too long, and ended up getting exactly what I wanted in a 2001 and paying full price. I don't want to do that again. So I figure by waiting as long as possible then I have better terms for negotiation and at the same time can get exactly what I want withw hat options.

So anybody know when will the right time be to buy an 05 in order to get the best deal, with the right options.

I wouldn't mind knowing this date also.

I'm probably going to order one to get exactly what I want. I figure if I am spending money on a new vechicle, I should get what I want and not pay for things I don't.

One feature I really want is the VDC for the 6 speed. I don't wnat to wait too long where I can't order what I want but order it late enough to make sure it has the VDC.

What do you consider a good deal. I would think a few hundred within invoice is a good deal and some dealers will do that. How long have the Frontiers been out and they offer no incentives yet.

From what I understand dealers are taking orders now for the April production. April is suppose to have the VDC for the manuals.

A good deal is what I already have, I'm looking for the best deal I can get before they are no longer available the way I want it. I'm sure eventually prices will come down or some type of incentive will be offered. Like I said, I'm in no hurry so if I can get more bang for MY BUCK, then the happier I will be.

Nissan tends to switch model year production in July, with new models showing up at the dealerships by September.

So, will the '06 be coming out this fall along with the other models confused

Boy that sure would be a very short cycle for the new X.

I'd assume so, what's the harm in making the 2005 model year only 7 months long?

There shouldn't be,,, my guess there will be deals to be had.

As of Sunday 3/7/05 my local dealer still had 11 '04 models, along with 5 '05.

I was talking to a Nissan dealer here about getting an 06. He said that Nissan staggered their releases on their vehicles. He said that chances are that the 06 xterra would be released in Feb 06.

Can't confirm this though.

geee....ppl lighten up. Its a concept car called Zaroot

"Being shown for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show, the Zaroot is Nissan's vision of how sporty SUVs could look in the near future. It combines traditional SUV values – and a serious off-road ability – with futuristic, sporty styling that marks it out as something different."

Consider the source. The dealer wants you to buy an '05 NOW.

There is no way Nissan is going to 'stagger their releases'. The '05 was so late I'm surprised they didn't just call it an '06.

They are not going to build '05 Xterras and '06 Frontiers in the same plant.
