Hi All,

I just had U-Haul install a hitch and the 4 pin harness. When he showed me what he did, I saw that he just spliced into the brakes and signals from the rear signal cables and left the harness in the trunk. He told me that there was no way to get the harness under the car without drilling it.

I have since just dumped the cable in the lower compartment in the trunk but sometimes it bothers me when it ratlles and moves about.

Has anyone had a similar experience with UHaul or any aftermarket harnesses?

Is there any way to route the harness under the car from this setup without drilling?

Thanks...

The wires are already there, you just need to buy the Nissan harness. It just plugs in.

I found out about that after reading previous posts and unfortunately after I had the aftermarket harness installed.

I am just looking for a way to get in under the car instead of in the trunk where they left it.

Why not just undo the Uhaul mickey mouse harness and buy the nissan harness and 7-4 pin adapter.

I had the same hitch installed, and they did the same thing.

They fed the harness up into the cabin, and I must close the door over the wire when attatched to trailer.

Might end up with the nissan harness after all.

The rest of the Uhaul set-up seems very sturdy.

Too bad Nissan's hitch is double the price.

The non-factory harnii won't give you tail or marker lights, just the turn/brake lights.

A friend of mine said "Don't start vast projects with half-vast plans". IMHO, splicing in a 4-wire is half -vast. Spend the extra $20-30 & do it right.
