Hey, Katwoman from Phoenix, are you really from Phoenix itself? I used to live in Peoria, back when there were still orange groves east of 83rd Avenue... I understand it's all pretty much paved over, from the White Tanks all the way to the Superstitions. Sad.
I used to live in Glendale for 30 years, up until last July, now we're in Phoenix down by South Mountain. Yes lots of development everywhere now. 83rd avenue is pretty much residential and retail. There are a few trees around, but not the groves you're thinking of. Arrowhead mall is there now (I assume you are talking 83rd ave./bell area) and lots of apts and houses all around. YEs you can drive around for 2 hours and still be in metro Phoenix, development is even going up WEST of the White Tanks.
