If the people and the media in Chicago made it sound like a slam dunk,... then that is their problem and an indication of their arrogance.

It really wasn't much of a story in the rest of the country until this week.

They probably also OVERESTIMATED the persuasive power of Barack Mugabe.

Chicago is a MASSIVE sewer of corruption. This country is better off not having an Olympics there.

Barack Mugabe was also really stupid for making the "sales pitch" trip to Europe without knowing beforehand whether it was in the bag. That was a very amateurish move.

Barack Mugabe has spent his presidency so far giving numerous speeches in foreign countries with the basic theme of those speeches being... "America sucks". Then he expected the international elite to bring the Olympics to his hometown to enrich all his cronies.

I guess these Olympic people must be a bunch of racists. They have to be.... they rejected the "Messiah". That's the standard line these days.

No.... the rest of the world does not hate us. Maybe they hate Chicago, but the world doesn't hate this country (only the leftist elite in the world hates the U.S.)

It hasn't been that long since this country had an Olympics. Brazil has never had one. That is probably a primary reason for the choice that was made.

Went to chicago, witnessed a mugging, two homeless people fight over a shopping cart, and asshole people who couldnt give a flying fart about anyone but themselves. All over a weekend. Chicago proper is not a massive sewer of corruption... its just a massive sewer. Drive 10 miles out of the city and its a whole different world.

Chicago: flat, smelly, boring, polluted lake, giant south side slums, and well...its filled with boring Chicagoans....

Rio: beach, mountains, fantastic weather, thongs, clubs, drugs, booze, lots of sex, hot chicks, weed, warm oceans, slums (but those can be cordoned off by the military), and did I mention the beaches, the thongs and the chicks?? It's really no contest...

Glad the city didn't get it and never will. Not enough room, too large of a budget compared to the massive debt the city has.

Yay for London 2012. Shame all the airlines will charge out the ass for flights to Europe tho, so even tho my parents are an hour by train away from London, I doubt I'll be able to afford to hit up my first Olympics.

Sounds like a local problem. Didn't seem like a slam dunk around here. Usually a president will go somewhere after a victory to celebrate and promote the ordeal, not to grovel and beg for something. That's our fearless leader on his knees again...
