Cruise control works for about three minutes then shuts off leaving the set light blinking until you shut the engine off. Shutting off the engine and restarting gets rid of blinking set light.

Not that I use it that much, I just want everything to work.

I doubt this is your problem from the way you describe it, but my cruise quit on me when the little rubber button in the brake pedal cracked and fell out, so that the cruise control switch under the drivers side dash was not being depressed.
