After using the thin felt pads and cranking the rubber stops up the my squeak never went away.

Then I looked at the alignment of the hood strike and the latch. I loosened the latch and adjusted so the strike was in the center of the latch.

I retighten the bolts on the latch to the proper torque.

No more squeak!
