04 Pathfinder w/ the 240 hp 3.5L version of the same (VQ) engine was rated at 16/21 (4x2) and 15/19 (4x4) vs. the 180 hp VG-engined 04 Xterra's 17/20 and 16/20 (automatic).
Interesting that with the curb weights for comparble 04 model Pathfinder and SE-trim Xterra are within a passengers-worth of each other, yet with a far less powerful, older engine design without the variable intake and timing of the VQ, the Xterra was still within 1 MPG of the Pathfinder.
