I still have almost all my hair. Got a thin spot on the top-back of my skull (which I wasn't really aware of until my m-i-l looked over the railing from the second floor and says "Oh, you're right, I can see his bald spot from here!" WTF?!).

I shaved my head once -- ONCE -- in college.

Never again.

I got this Klingon-patchwork-quilt kinda thing going on.

If I go totally bald, I'll accept it. I won't wear a rug.

But I'm not gonna force the issue.

I've noticed recently that I have a receeding hairline as well, but I don't let it bother me.

I've been buzzing on #0 (no attachment, just straight clipper) my head at home for the last 5 years (I'm 31) and the thought of having to actually style my hair makes me laugh...

So, I am one of the convict looking ones I guess. laugh

I also sport a goatee (chin only), but I never thought about it balancing out my lack of hair on top, I just grew it when I was 18 and never bothered to shave it off. Besides, I live in Canada, so it keeps my chin warm when it's cold out!

As for other peoples opinions, I don't care what anyone thinks about it my hair. I know who my friends are, and I can take some ribbing if someone feels the need to take out their insecurities on me. I know that someone trying to put ME down is merely them trying to deflect critisims off of them.

I think the part that irks me the most about guys who are loosing their hair, isn't the actual loss, it's what they do to attempt to cover it up.

Case in point: Donald Trump? Come on buddy, your HAIR should be fired!

So, be happy with who you are, not who your hair is. Society today puts WAY too much empasis on how we look on the outside, as opposed to who we are on the INSIDE.

It's who you are that I would care about, not what you look like.

So, come on over and have a beer with the rest of us BOXC'ers! [drink]

Note: BOXC = Bald Xterra Owners Club...

If you have the ability to grow an absolutely symmetrical and full beard, you WILL go bald.

That's not true at all.

Where did you get that idea?

Interesting. I'm 42 and I still don't shave my face (just the upper lip every three or four days), but I've got a sasquatch full of hair on my head. I shave it down to 1/2" every two weeks, it's nuts.

Just don't do the "comb-over," dude. You won't be fooling anybody!

Well, thanks for the advice.

A couple things- Rogain sucks, too bad. Anybody, out of curiosity, be willing to admit to undergoing hair transplant? Any future in that? Any future in anything else?

I took a look back at the few pictures from the last few years I have that I do not have a hat on. Looks like about an inch lost in about the last year. Could be worse I guess...

The thing is, and I can't word this without sounding a little fruity so fuck it, I have (or soon to be had) awesome hair. The kind my mom, sister and wife are jealous of. I know, that sounds pretty gay, but I grow my hair long with a big beard in the winter, it's what I do, and soon that will be classified as a comb-over. That sucks.

This whole getting old thing sucks, too. God, you took my ability to run fast, recover quick, and bend instead of break...I wanted the hair. Ahh fuck it, at least I don't have kids yet; life could be worse.

I think transplants etc are for those who secretly crave the c0ck... I wouldn't have minded Rogaine if it had worked out better because that's a pretty minimal effort/expense in the name of vanity.... but putting any more effort into it than that just seems highly un-manly.

I started noticing my hairline is receeding at the sides. I'm suprised I lasted this long (32). My cousin started when he was in his early 20s. Our grandpa had the same pattern. It wouldn't be so bad except for the whole sunburn part. Iraqi sun isn't friendly. Sad thing is, the rest of my hair is as thick as the bocage. At least I have that going for me. My mom says she doesn't remember my grandpa having a full head of hair - he was 30 when she born. Fuck it - I'm good.

I've got some dandy scars that a bald head would really showcase....two places have been stitched up, one from a car wreck, and another from sledding under a barbed wire fence when I was a kid.

Insert lobotomy jokes here.
I have no comment. I laughing to hard.
