I'll be there, not sure if the Xterra will though- rather get 35 mpg with the civic and pack light. The lack of creature comforts does have me a little concerned,

I think that there will be plenty of idiots around. My hope is to avoid them getting in my face if possible.

It's a 4 day annual music festival about 50 miles south of Nashville, TN. They have over 100 bands on 15 stages, and over 30 comics as well. I've never been, but have always wanted to. Led Zeppelin was rumored to be there this year, but that was false; I'll still go, though, 'cause it'll be a hella' good time.

These gal will be there, though.

I'll be there this year... haven't been since 05... If you've never attended Bonnaroo, do yourself a favor and go. Just don't get too involved in the "atmosphere". You could spend 3 hrs looking for your camping space....

What's the deal with this festival? Are there nice hotels nearby... or do you have to camp out among thousands of stoned, drunken meth heads?

What are the bathroom facilities like? Are they a bunch of Port-O-Sans out baking in the sun with the inside painted with diarrhea by sunset of the first day?

Do you have to bring your own tents, or do they supply tents? What happens if it rains? Do you have to sleep in a drenched flood plain?

Just wondering.....

Not much in the way of hotels.

If you're first question after "hotel" is about bathroom facilities, you're too old to go and have fun.

Big decision - do I go for regular GA tickets, or do I spring for the VIP package, camp closer, free meals, bleachers, etc...

If you can afford it, spring for the VIP package. Free showers are a heck of a lot better than 5 bucks a pop or showering out of a bag! Also the stands are a located perfectly for watching the shows. But GA tickets are fine. You won't notice the long walk till 2am when your trying to find your tent. That sucks.

I ended springing for the VIP package.

Now I have to sell the second VIP ticket somewhere. I wish they had a single ticket option, but oh well.

I decided that the restroom issues and VIP tents would be a benefit. Plus a much shorter distance. Most of what I've seen is that the VIP is designed for those with the money to have a few more creature comforts.

I'll see who all I meet up with.
