I thought this was kind of interesting.

It's a 14 point quiz you can take to determine which presidential candidate you MOST agree with. Some of the candidates have dropped out after this test was created.

http://www.wqad.com/Global/link.asp?L=259460

My test had McCain #1 followed by Romney.

Shocker here, but I don't agree with ANY of the candidates on the things that actually matter to me...

Yeah, they only hit upon "hot" issues of today or what seems to matter to most Americans, but I could think of a few questions that I would have asked that seem to matter more to me than most people. That will be true of everyone.

I think it's just to give you a general idea of what to expect from each candidate.

I imagine that most people don't know these candidates as well as they thought they did.

By what to expect from the candidates, I assume you mean what the candidates will lie about? laugh

What a ridiculous cop-out! Every election you hear this same thing from the same people.

"Everybody running for office sucks! I don't wanna vote for any of them, so I won't!"

The system is what it is and it's been this way for as long as we've been a country. You can either participate in the process and vote for who you dislike the least or you can sit on the side-lines and do nothing. And then you'll be the same people who sit around and bitch all the time because you don't like the way things are!

If everyone who refused to vote because they "hate everybody" got together and voted for someone, they could actually wield some power in this country.

I'm actually kind of surprised to hear that someone who is going through the process to get citizenship has this attitude. If I was a new citizen to this country, I would be excited to get to vote here. I look forward to voting in every election. It's the only real power that each of us has. Why would you give up that power?

I know several people who every election say that they aren't going to vote because they "hate everyone." The truth is that these people (that I know anyway) are simply too lazy to go vote so they use the "why bother" and "everybody is bad" as an excuse for their laziness.

Rinky, I do hope that when you become a citizen that you pick someone and vote.

I don't really have to worry about voting in presidential elections. Indiana has gone to the Republicans in almost every election in the past 100 years. Strange state. We tend to elect Democrats on the state and local level but nationally we elect Republicans. In Indiana most of the Democrats believe gun control means hitting your target.

Good quiz with the exception of the question concerning education (teacher pay based on performance). That issue is a local/state issue, and not one for out national president to be concerned about. Unsurprisingly, the results of the quiz show Obama and Clinton as my top choices.

Since I live in a "purple" state (Florida) I feel compelled to vote.

Ron Paul on top, Obama and Hilary on the bottom. That is interesting because that is exactly how I ranked them before the quiz.

Huckabee on top w/ 39
McCain w/ 37
Antichrist # 1 & 2 rounding out the bottom (Clinton & Obama) w/ 19.
Gravel way on the bottom w/ 8.

Here's another interesting quiz that covers may more issues and lets you assign more points to the ones important to you. Where you assign pts, determines what kind of questions you get.

Glassbooth - Candidate Quiz

I assigned 1pt to each issues (because I do have an opinion on them all) and assigned the rest of the pts to my key issues:

Mike Huckabee 68% similarity
Ron Paul 68% similarity
John McCain 59% similarity

This a pretty accurate view, as Huckabee and Paul were my top two picks for president anyway. Granted, Paul's views on some issues are way far out there (and I really disagree agree w/ some of them), but that's why checks & balances exist.

I'll probably end up voting for Huckabee in the primary, but McMuffin will end up getting the party nomination unfortunately.

McCain has defintely locked up the Republican side at this point. The other side could go either way, though I understand Clinton has an edge with the "superdelegates" and that may sway it her way. Ultimately I think McCain is going to have a hard time beating either democrat. The democrats and a lot of independents are all fired up for a "change" and I from what I understand McCain isn't really exciting the republican base.

I scored a 39 on McCain which is really surprising. I scored an 8 and a 7 on Obama and Clinton.

McCain fails me on my number one issue which is illegal immigration/Iraqi murder squads coming across the border. I can't imagine how important border security would be if the Muslim extremest had started a war with us say five years ago by flying two airplanes into the World Trade Center in NYC or the Sears tower in Chicago. Good thing that never happened as with more than 10,000 people crossing our border illegally with tons of materials it would be simple to smuggle enough people over in a week to attack every school in America at once murdering a hundred thousand innocent children an hour. Imagine if they were smuggling anthrax rather than cocaine by the ton across our border!

If I was able to vote - I certainly would. Just glad this time I don't have to figure out who gets the vote.

Well I took a very similar quiz on another site and all of the top candidates were Republican - Ron Paul & Hucklebee.

My Top 3 on this one are:

Mike Gravel
Score: 40

Barack Obama
Score: 32

Hillary Clinton
Score: 27

So I'm kinda thinking that news site must be run by the Dems!

I can tell you right now, that candidate quiz is BULLSHIT.

Either they don't know a lot about the candidates, or the quiz is designed to push people toward one candidate or another.

McCain supports all kinds of government enviro-regulation, yet the quiz doesn't show him as such. He's also not completely solid on the 2nd amendment. He's actually authored gun control legislation.

The quiz has both Hillary and Obama supporting the death penalty. Give me a fucking break.

Does it? I couldn't really tell by the question - the question was beyond vague.

Why, because it didn't give you the answer you thought you'd get? That's the whole point of the quiz - to find out who you'd most likely agree with. Besides, it's just a game. Lighten up. Expand your views. Open your mind. Don't take yourself so seriously. (I hate to tell you this, but it's NOT that important!) You still have the option to vote for whoever you want. And we won't even make you tell who that would be. Not that it wouldn't be hard to guess... wink

I already stated why the quiz is bullshit. Because it doesn't get all the candidates positions correct.

Is believing lies about candidates positions now supposed to be "opening your mind"? Maybe in your mind.

The candidates positions .... or what they claim are their positions.... are in the last page after you take the quiz in the agree/disagree columns.

Dude! Chill out! This is only a game. Who cares if they didn't "get all the candidate's positions correct"? What I meant by "open your mind" was to let someone else pose an idea - even if it differs from your etched-in-stone, can't-disagree-with-NYM point of view. But then again, maybe you can't see that. Which only leads to the question, "Who died and made you God (assuming there's room in your universe to allow one)?" Who says you're right? Or would that not be possible? Why do you assume you are the authority that EVERYONE must listen to? Or is this touching a bit too close to home and that's really the reason you're so defensive?

I can see the headlines now:

World ends because NYM was wrong! News at 11...

Who cares? It's only a game! Take it at face value and move on.

Chill out? [Freak]

I'm not the one getting upset. You seem to be getting upset that I pointed out that quiz was wrong. That's you're problem, not mine.

Here.... I have a better quiz for you at the link below. It's probably more suited to your mentality....

Don't forget.... Open your mind!

NYM - I'm not the least bit upset. In fact, I find this argument of yours rather silly! If you'd care to read what I posted (requires pulling your head out of your ass and actually listening to people), you'd realize that I actually AGREED with you about the quiz being wrong. But that wasn't my point. My point was, WHO CARES? IT'S STUPID QUIZ ON THE INTERNET! The whole point of the quiz was just some plain old-fashioned fun! So what if they don't agree with you? So what if you think it's stupid? Who the hell cares? I seriously doubt that anyone on here thinks your opinion of this stupid quiz is really that important.

So where does this leave us? I realize you can't admit you were wrong, so how about we just leave it with the agreement that it is stupid, wrong and nobody who knows anything shouldn't listen to it. Everybody should ignore these kind of stupid quizzes and maybe, just maybe, everyone will go through life with a frown on their faces instead of a smile. And while we're at it, let's put all the comedians in the world in prison for trying to make someone laugh. Yeah, that's a better way to spend life, huh?

Now can we go on with life?

You're a real piece of work.

It's not my argument. You jumped in arguing with me. For some reason you claimed I didn't like the results of this quiz. [Freak] I never mentioned anything about my results. I simply said they were wrong on some of the candidates positions. It has nothing to do with agreeing with me.

This is a quiz on a media outlet's website. An ABC affiliate. It's not from a comedic or non-serious type website. Maybe you don't expect accuracy from the media.

The quiz I posted was intended for good old fashioned fun. Not the TV station quiz.

You also never agreed with me. Your head is up your ass. Maybe you're eating too much Kellog's corn flakes up there in Battle Creek. It's affecting your reading comprehension. You jumped into the thread to start a phony argument.
