Many taxpayers checking their bank accounts for tax rebate stimulus checks should start looking in their mailboxes instead.
Taxpayers and tax preparers are discovering that anyone who elected to have tax preparation fees deducted from their tax refund will not receive rebate checks via direct deposit.
Those who filed their taxes using a software program or service that subtracted a fee directly from the refund will have to wait for their rebate check to arrive in the mail. That explains it for me.... WFT... ![[Freak]](graemlins/freak.gif)

So it looks like if you had to pay, you'll be getting a paper check instead of direct deposit.

How did you pay the taxes due, direct withdrawal from your bank (if this is even possible), or did you write them a check, or pay with a credit card? If you wrote a check or used a credit card, then you are not direct deposit, so with the schedule you'll have to wait until they start doing the paper checks. My mom got her's (11), the first week. She didn't get a refund this year, but she could have. I do her taxes and I applied her refund to this years taxes, instead of making her send a quarterly check to the IRS for her estimated taxes (she's retired so nothing is withheld). But the direct deposit information was on the return, so she got her rebate the week she was schedule too. Mine's supposed to be deposited on the 14th according that IRS website.

[/b]AS I recall you can put in your bank info and let them withdraw, just like when they put $ in. We had to pay for 06 and we put 1/2 down when we submitted our tax forms via online. We went through a tax preparer, maybe that makes a difference?

Yeaa - I input my bank info and they took out the money to pay my taxes. Oh well - I guess I'll wait for the check, just got a fat check from my mortgage company for overpaying escrow by $200 a month for the first year of our mortgage, I'll go stimulate the economy with that for now Funny thing is - although I owed $2100 in federal taxes, I received almost $600 back in State, which I had DD'd into my account. Pretty sure Turbo Tax said it would be DD'd - but maybe they got their info wrong too.

How will that affect my rebate? A: All taxpayers who received a refund-anticipation loan — or who requested one but were turned down — will receive their rebates by mail, says Amy McAnarney of H&R Block. Similarly, if your tax-preparation or electronic-filing fees were withheld from your refund, you'll receive a paper check, even if you arranged for direct deposit of your tax refund.
