You have to realize the danger of a people that will do this.... That takes some real fortitude. I think many in our nation need to wake up and realize the "dedication" certain factions of the world have, when we start to play with them politically....... If we decide to go against them, it had better be balls out.

Family, friend, stranger . . . if someone was in immediate danger, and I had the ability to save their life, I'd like to think I'd be man enough to try . . .

Ditto. I'd would put myself in danger to save a loved one etc.. but to willingly get out of a car on a downtown street with no war or threat to yourself and light up, man... you either got to be crazy, dedicated, or both.....

i think that these people who set themselves on fire or blow themselves are misguided people who do not know any better because from the time they were able to go to the bathroom by thereselves they have been taught to think a certain way, or believe certain things, i feel sorry for them somewhat because they know no better.........

Lots of people are willing to die for things. When I used to be an undercover in OCCB/Narcotics I put my life on the line many, many times fighting for what I believe in. More times than you have taken solid shits since becoming a vegetarian. It even came close to killing me. The thing about you Marxists is that you always make other people die for your causes. You are too much of a coward to risk your own life for what you believe in. There is no way someone like you could ever understand risking one's life for what you believe in.

Regarding the Iranian women who set themselves ablaze, explain how this is our fault by "playing with them politically" Samuel? Weren't they protesting the French rounding up Iranian Terrorists ? You did read the article correctly. While their opposition to Islamic rule may be a just cause, their methods are still terrorism. The group is no good. They set up a base of operations in Paris for raising money and planning terrorist acts. While I hate the government of Iran I still cannot support terrorist organizations in Europe or America. Regardless of their cause. Can you? Are we to separate terrorists by their causes? A terrorist is a terrorist. Anti-Ayatollah today... anti-American tommorow.

I agree with you on that last post Madman. We are seeing some of the same type of thing in Iraq with some of the Shiites. The thing is if one bad government is going out, you better make damn sure what replacing it isn't the same or worse. We have seen it time and again in the region. Remember the Taliban? Of course these examples are religious fanatic governments, while this group supposedly is not. The bottom line is they are all terrorists.

My meaning wasn't clear. I am not saying we caused this type of action through political manipulation. I meant that I think we sometimes underestimate the commitment that some of these foreign cultures have to their cause and when we deal with them politically it puts us at a disadvantage. Our politics are just that politics. Theirs are intertwined with religion. How many of our DEMS are lighting themselves on fire in protest of the sun setting "all weapons ban"???
