I used to take my 87 Civic places that surprised many. It was small enough to get around things.

I also knew people with a early Suby that took it way into the mountains in Colorado because it was true 4x4 and was so narrow and small. All it really takes is a willingness to put your vehicle at risk.....

Those little subys were great offroad. My dad has owned several and I have been amazed at where a competent driver can take one (and make it back).

Anyone else remember when Subarus actually had a transfer case and a low range?

Two things...

1. Lose the music. Doesn't go with the video.

2. Ain't nothin' an AMC Eagle couldn't do.

There's a guy in an offroad club here in the DC area that was known to buy beater subarus and put swampers on them...then take them out and run them into the ground.
