It's giving all our money to rebuild places like Iraq. Rebuild at home before you spend it somewhere else.[/b]I currently pay about $300 a month in Social Security and Medicaid taxes. I resent that. I could be putting that money into a retirement fund that will generate interest, rather than something that generates negative interest. Realize that if I put money into a market account, any money left when I bite it can be given to my survivors. Not so much with Social Security. Now, if these programs worked like that, then I'd be less hostile about it - it would be an account for my money. Instead, it is taken from me and dispersed to other people, on the basis that future generations will pay for me. How backward is that? Can I buy my next car like that? "Don't worry, my grandchildren will pay you for this car." I agree with you on the expense of rebuilding Iraq. We give these fuckers way too much, and they want more. Sounds like the welfare crowd at home. Of course here, I have a bit more influence. I can tell them "no". They want a few gallons of diesel? Find me the damn rocketeers. You want a well in your village so you don't have to drink from the polluted canal? Find me the assholes that are transporting IEDs. I make people work to get the benefits - and it's not easy work either. It might get them killed, but at least I know they really want those benefits. How many blood sucking welfare people are willing to put their lives on the line, as well as their family, to receive those benefits?

The beginning of the end for the Ron Paul Revolution....Many have always wondered why Ron Paul attracts such a "diverse" following which includes neo-nazi's, KKK types, anti-semites, conspiracy nutjobs of all stripes including the 9-11 truther crowd, extreme anti-war zealots, etc. Maybe those questions can now be answered. The New Republic has been wondering why so many fringe groups are attracted to Ron Paul and thinks they have an answer. They have gone back and checked many of his past writings and a newsletter he used to publish. Their conclusions are not pretty for a guy running for president. If Paul was a major candidate, his campaign would be completely dead because of these allegations. Keep in mind it is TNR, but we will see if any of this information gains legs. They will also be publishing the transcripts of Paul's papers. http://www.tnr.com/politics/story.html?id=e2f15397-a3c7-4720-ac15-4532a7da84ca Some more here.... http://pajamasmedia.com/2008/01/ron_paul.php I might add, on a personal note, that as a libertarian with significant sympathy for Paul’s platform, I initially viewed claims of his past history of racism skeptically. But the evidence is so overwhelming that the defense of Paul is now, itself, indefensible. This could also explain why he refused to return campaign donations from the neo-nazi leader of Stormfront. ---------------------------------------------------Bill Clinton ran into some Paulbots in New Hampshire last night. The Paulbots screamed 9-11 was an inside job. Clinton rightfully said they were nuts.

And I dont get his supporters either. If he does have a good message, its lost in all the stupidity of the folks who like him. From all accounts he has one of the most consistent voting records in politics so I'm not sure how you come to the conclusion that he is "erratic" but I agree that the "truthers" etc. aren't helping his cause. I like a lot of what the man says. I like a lot of what Obama says, and several others... Long as it's not Clinton or Guilani.. I can't stand those two. I cringe thinking about either as president. I also have to ask, though I don't consider myself a dyed in the wool Ron Paul Supporter (I think we could do worse), do you actually know any first hand? I'd wager I'm the closest thing you got? Read a lot of my past posts on various subjects and tell me honestly if you think I'm a "nutjob"? I think every politician has their "loony" groups. I don't think it's just Paul, hell the NRA is rife with nutjobs and they are one of the biggest special interest groups out there...

He is a disturbed individual. It's also possible he could be pretending to be a conspiracy nut because he sees a large market within the public for making money off of conspiracy nuts. Either way, he has no credibility whatsoever. I'm actually very surprised you would even read web sites like Prison Planet. Maybe that could explain why lately you seem to see everything through a doom and gloom lens. Do yourself a favor and avoid the conspiracy nutjob sites like prison Planet and forget about Alex Jones. People must be getting scared of Paul???? No one is getting scared of Ron Paul. He has absolutely no chance of winning. There is no reason to be scared of him. He is a crackpot.
Just for the record show me where Paul himself has stated that 9/11 was an inside job as I have never seen it? I have never said that Ron Paul has made those claims. I said he attracts all the 9-11 conspiracy nutjobs.

I then did a quick Google search and those are just some links that came up. I have no clue about Alex Jones or the Prison Planet site. I figured them no worse than TNR though. However it is true that the Times retracted their story about Paul. So some of the info is legit.

I posted a long time ago some of Ron Paul's old writings and said he was racist and hated blacks and Jews. The fact that he refuses to return money from neo-Nazi's should tell you something about the guy. His excuse is that he can't control who gives him money. That is true. But when it is discovered that some of his donors are among the biggest cretins in the country, a respectable politician would return the money. The guy is still fighting the Civil War for Christ sakes. He has no concept of history or the present... hence he is a crackpot. Here is a video from him on Tim Russert's Meet the Press about 3 weeks ago. He thinks we could have bought the slaves and avoided the war. The guy is a clueless kook... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbOE4Ip7In0 In about 10 years you'll see him in a nursing home in Texas wearing a Confederate General's uniform cursing Lee for surrendering. ![[Freak]](graemlins/freak.gif)

I don't think such a person exists! [/b]Maybe. Certainly not this election year. Speaking of Ron Paul..... He's on TV right now giving a speech to his crowd in NH. He mentioned getting rid of the Federal Reserve again. He mentioned the Iranian speed boats yesterday. He said there is no way those small boats could have beeen a threat. I guess Ron Paul never heard of the USS Cole that had a huge hole blown into it and 17 guys killed. All from a little rowboat. The guy is beyond a kooky cartoon character.

That's one thing I do agree with him on. Too bad he has all the other kooky crap like his views on Iraq [/b]It would be a bad thing in our modern complex financial system. There are even people out there that have all kinds of kooky and wacky conspiracy theories regarding the Federal Reserve. I don't know if Ron Paul subscribes to any of them, but you may be able to check some photocopies of some of his writings in PDF format at the link here..... http://www.tnr.com/politics/story.html?id=74978161-f730-43a2-91c3-de262573a129

Hillary Clinton wins New Hampshire for the Democrats.... This has to make you wonder about the ethics and the overall agenda of most of these people in the media. With only one state caucus occurring for the Democrats last Thursday, almost every major media outlet dropped Hillary Clinton like a hot potatoe. They declared her campaign dead. They practically proclaimed Obama as the second coming of the messiah. WTF? It didn't matter that the Democrats had 49 other states ahead of them. The media was picking their winner. I'm no fan of Hillary, but the media is being a complete disgrace. Even to their favored political party. And another thing..... What about all those so-called polls the media was touting that said Obama was so far ahead in New Hampshire? What was that all about? The polls couldn't have been more wrong. At least on the Democrat side of things. Some of these media scum and the pollsters have some explaining to do. ................................................ On a lighter note........ Barry Obama as the candidate of "change" ![[Freak]](graemlins/freak.gif) will be changing his campaign theme song. He makes people feel good. Even as the candidate of change, no one knows what the hell he is going to change, but he makes Democrats feel good. It's all about how you feel. He turns Democrats night into day..... "He rode a blazing saddle He wore a shining star His job to offer battle, to bad men near and far
He conquered fear and he conquered hate He turned dark night into day He made his blazing saddle a torch to light the way" "He conquered fear and he conquered hate He turned dark night into day He made his blazing saddle a torch to light the way"

I still don't get why all states don't have their caucuses at the same time.... Texas' isn't until March 8th - why even bother having one by that time?
Hey Desert Rat: I know you hate McCain.... what are your thoughts if it comes down to him VS Obama or Hillary (well, I can guess on the Hillary one)?
I'm so conflicted.... there is at least one thing that I hate about all the candidates... I'm having trouble picking one. Not that it matters.... when it comes to the real election, Texas will go to the republican candidate... period.

I'm shuddering at the thoughts of McCain being elected. As far as Hillary vs. Obama... I'm just glad she stole a little of his thunder yesterday. I really don't want either one of them running away with it.
