I don't know much about Subway sandwiches other than Jared supposedly lost a ton of weight eating them.

It's been a while since I have been in a Subway shop. I consider Subway "3AM ... no other choice...drunk food". Around here, during the day, there is a plethora of really good deli's and Italian deli's where you can get far superior homemade hero sandwiches. On real bread too.

I would guess they ask to toast the tuna to make a psuedo tuna melt sandwich. A tuna melt can be a very good sandwich if it is made right. I wouldn't think Subway is a place that would make a good tuna melt.

I dont know how he kept his will to live eating that crap every day.

The subways around here hires the retards that couldn't cut it at arbys so your lucky if you can get your sub made at all let alone looking like something you would want to eat. Plus the store is pretty damn nasty with flies all over the place constantly.

Jimmy Johns is better, about the same cost super fast and spotless.

One of our local Subways, the one downtown, recently closed their store so they could relocate to a larger store a few spots down. It's actually one of the better places downtown to eat. It's always spotless and is always very busy at lunch. They compete very well with Schlotzky's (another well known sub place).

Subway was great when they were new but the luster has really worn off...

... plus it pisses me off that they don't have any kind of menu. When I walk in I see little partial menus here and there showing off what they're advertising right now - but there is no comprehensive list of all their sammiches on the wall.

I really like Jimmy Johns - except that the only cheese they offer is provolone.

Quiznos is good - but there aren't any around my new work.

There's a local chain (I think they're just local anyway... maybe not) called Thundercloud that's pretty decent.

Oh - and this new "Firehouse Subs" chain is the suck.

I'd love to see Subway have an "Ala Carte" typ option... like a "build your own".

Just my 2 cents.

Uh.... they don't? You mean like, pre-made sammiches you can just grab off the line?

I thought subway's whole deal was being able to build your own?

I went to a subway in Kuwait the last time I was in the area. Those guys will put ANYTHING in your sub! smile Tell 'em you want an Italian BMT with double cheese and a clock in it and you'll get it.

Yeah, but I mean, if you just wanted a ham & Pepperoni... it's outside of the meat choices, ya' gotta' get the WHOLE Italian BMT.
After the BMT part, they'll put the whole display on it, but what if I just want a damn ham sammich?

I not positive but I'm pretty sure in Kuwait that would be a bomb.
