The government probably thought that they would cause a scene if they would have "Hurt his feelings" had they been wrong about the info that they had on him. That's the problem today. Everything is kindler and gentler. Alot of things could be solved in this world by a swift smack in the mouth.
The government is lying. If they wanted to find out whether the jihadist Internet postings were coming from his computer, they have all the tools and resources available at their disposal to find out.
This whole case is a massive embarrassment for the government and getting worse for them by the hour.
