The one thing to remember is that this guy will be tried by a court martial. That means the prosecutor, judge, and jury will all be Army officers. The only civilian allowed would be the defense. So, unlike most civilian juries, this one will consist of people with college educations and military experience. It will take a skilled defense to get one over on them. The other thing he has going against him is his actions that morning. He hasn't been to theater, so he can't plead PTSD, which is about the only insanity cause the Army believes in.
