Can anyone help?

I recently purchased the Logitech MX5000 Bluetooth Wireless Desktop. It includes the MX1000 Laser Mouse, and a pretty sweet keyboard as well...

My problems started with the mousse from the initial installation. I'm having an issue where the mouse pointer lags behind the motion of the mouse on the desktop. Basically, the tracking is WAYYYYY off. It's a brand new mouse and they're lithium batteries, so it's not the batteries....I'm an avid gamer and this basically screwed up my gaming so I'm using a corded MX510 mouse now.

Now, I'm noticing I'm having issues with the keyboard as well. I get type lag (hit a key and havve to wait a few seconds for it to shoooooow up on the screen), and on top of that, I get multiple hits. For example, I can type "Xterra" on the keyboard, and it will show up like this on screen - XXXterraaa.

The batteries in the keyboard are brand new. I've moved the Bluethooth adapter to different USB ports to get a new memory address for it. The Bluetooth adapter is about 3' from the keyboard. All the software is the most up to date I could get.

Does anyone have any ideas how to solve the problems with the mouse and keyboard? THey're starting to drive me nuts!!!
