anyone know where i can get a good performance chip, had a friend that bought a piggyback ecu one off of Ebay for 9 bucks and its giving him hell . . . .

There are no "chips" for the Xterra. The only option is to have the ECU re-programmed. www.jetchip.com is the only place that does it so far.
Those "chips" and "modules" they sell on Ebay for $10 to $200 are garbage, as your sucker friend has learned.

There's a Chip Shop called MR T's Fish & Chips in a small town called Yate, just outside of Bristol England. Sells the best chips.

Honestly, why would you expect something positive out of $9? Come on... you'll have more positive results spending those bucks on a six-pack.

As said before, there are no chips that will increase performance. They are a gimmic. Save your money. I'm sure many of us would love to increase the HP on our first gens, especially after bigger tires an lifts, but that's not really happening.
