alright so i am currently looking into getting a new exhaust/intake. I think i am set on a 2.5" exhaust with a flowmaster 40 series but now i am trying to decide what intake to buy. Everyone seems to say that the intakes dont do anything at all besides make the car sound nice....so why not buy something like the jwt pop charger? It is only $110 and uses the stock tubing and just replaces the box with a filter.. It doesnt come with a heat sheild but it cant be that hard to fab one up right? What are people opinoins/experiences with the pop charger??

I have had that on my truck for 7 years now. I think it works great; no problems at all with.

You should be careful when doing water crossings as it is an open-air filament.

Driving around in the rain or going thru puddles are nothing to worry about.. But water crossings are different. I went thru some deep water once and sucked a little water into my engine that made it stall. But mind that I was in water deeper than I should have been.. [Freak]

alright that sounds good. One more question..i think. I just looked under the hood and there is the MAF sensor (i think) that is located after the filter. Then there is another sensor that is in some tubing before the filter and outside of the stock airbox. what is that sensor and what did you do with it since the tubing that it is in is no longer needed?

Sorry I took so long to respond. I just looked at your PM and this thread. But it's been a while since I installed it. Roughly 6 years ago. But I'll look later on today and see what I did and report back.. wink

that is the air intake temp sensor... you still need that, just zip tie it to something close to the filter.

Ok you don't need to remove the bottom resonator box. All you see is a little tube coming up. I left that attached and the sensor on that so it stays in the same place. I can tak pictures if need be. Just let me know.. wink

I had the nismo cold air intake installed in my 2005 4x4 S. Not only does it sound great, but with a Flowmaster 50 series, the gas mileage is up and the horsepower is noticeable. There are plenty of freeway driving opportunities in Phoenix, and this beast gets right up to 80mph in no time. The growl in the engine when you step on it is pretty impressive.
