i got a supercharger hella cheap....it wasnt til later i found out i would have 2 spend about 6 or 7 g's i replace parts (ecu, body rewiring etc.) that would allow the charge to be compatible with a 2001 3.3l v6 xe....i decided the cheapest route to keeping my 2001 body style and a superchrager would be to find a wrecked already charged xterra, pull the engine and swap....i need input because this is what ive wanted for a very long time

Sure you can do it, but your still gonna spend a fortune to get a few more HP, and will then have to use premium fuel too. Resale value could take a hit too. Sounds like way too much trouble for the small benefit of a little power, and opening yourself up to lots of problems.

i see but dude to me its so worth it now all i like spending money on is my baby....plus all i gotta do is adjust the pulley size to get it pushin more boost

you'll need to pull the ecu also. but i dont see why it wouldn't work.

if you're gonna swap pulleys, you should add more fuel. cant just keep adding air.

I was looking through some of the fsm last night and noted that the transmission was different for the SC as well, at least a different code. I dont know exactly what the difference was but it was a different "part number". Maybe cyclemut/brent will shed some light on this as well. You might have to pull the tranny of the wreck as well.

You'll need the ECU to go with it, and I know there are some differences in the engine wiring harnesses.
Not sure what's different, but yes, the transmission part numbers are different for the NA and SC models. I suspect they're fully interchangeable though.

They are interchangeable, as the blocks are the same (actually, all the internals are the same but the pistons. Rods, cams, etc. are all the same). But, Nissan put in some other sensors for the S/C trannies to see if the S/C was overpowering the tranny at any point. If it saw too much slip, instead of toasting a trans, it would kick the boost off. Something to consider when adding power.

Then why do the aftermarket replacement clutches specify "Non-Supercharged Only", Yet I havent seen a clutch meant for the S/C engine. odd?

I hope the tranny's are the exact same, or at least interchangable. I plan on swapping out my N/A for an S/C eventually, but I want to keep my centerforce DF clutch and tranny.
It seems like you'll need the engine harness, ECM, engine, exhaust modifications of some sort..
Not to mention a hole in the hood or a 2" body lift to clear the supercharger.

I'm sure it's a lot easier to do, than trying to piece together an S/C swap.

Use an after market centrifugal supercharger. You can have a custom plate CNC'd to mount it at the necessary angle for the belt to fit. Then just have 2" mandrel bent tubing running through and aftercooler and into the throttle body.

This way will allow you to save ALOT of money and headaches, while still allowing you to make much more horsepower than the 20hp difference between the VQ33DE and the VQ33DE with SC.

In addition, it will allow you to customize the look of the engine bay, while an after makret ECU...say AEM EMS ($1,000) will allow you to have your X tuned for maximum power, reliability (proper A/F ratio), and efficeincy.
