Well, I managed to tow a 5 pack of 4wheelers up to fairplay from denver this weekend with my supercharged auto. the trailer weighs in at roughly 4800 lbs. loaded with the quads shocked I made it up crow hill at a cool 45mph with my foot to the floor and supercharger whining like a son of a beach. But, i made it up and back with no problems. I did take the truck to get its tranny flushed and oil changed this morning just to be on the safe side. The down side to towing it? 8.6mpg there and 11.5mpg back. YIKES!

Dude that rocks!!!!! I would KILL to get over 10 mpg..... I think I average 10 Highway 6 or 7 city, worse if I really stomp on it... the supercharger rocks, but you really dont buy it for the gas milage right?

Good to know that I can tow that much...

Damn, my city mileage is usually right at 16mpg. I usually get about 270-280 miles per tank and i drive in Denver's rush hour traffic daily.

I wouldn't recommend making that tow that i did again. My poor X had to be hurting after that venture, 45 minutes with my foot buried to the floor... around town it wasn't too bad, but once i hit the hills? it was all over.

Jeez, you must really have your foot to the floor most of the time.

I have a 2000 X and tow a 3500lbs hard side camping trailer at least once a month. It tows it great! Have been up and down the Sierra's and Yosemite a couple times as well and it has done well. Need to drop it into 2nd here and there in hills but it holds 50 mph almost every time. Really can't complain for the smaller V6 it has.

Now I did change or are in the process of changing all my fluids to synthetics....that should help the wear and tear as well.
