Unfortunately I have a slushbox in my Xterra, but in other vehicles, I've used RedLine MTL and MT-90 with success. That includes the Rovers which have many more "soft metal" bits than modern trannys. I've had no cold shift problems at all. Both of these fluids are safe for the GL-4 recommendation...
