As maddening as it may seem... if
you were Knutsen, and
you were the hockey player whose shot killed a family's young daughter... I would hope that you would at least feel somewhat more sympathetic to the family... somehow, I don't think season tickets and saying "my bad, but your daughter shouldve watched out" would be enough to calm your conscience...
