Nismo - what's up with your boys declining to open with LSU so you can open with Eastern Washington. Weak sauce, dude. [Wave]

Perhaps the only weaker sauce is LSU's nonconference schedule this year. Appy State, Troy, North Texas and Tulane, all at home. Wtf?

Did you not see what Kansas just did this year? [Freak] We're just playing within the rules of this crappy system. Until there's a playoff, there's really no reason to have a tough OCC game. Especially, when this year is going to be our best look at a BCS bid. [Smoking] We've whored ourselves out before (see tOSU's championship year) and it did no good to go on the road against a top quality opponent like that. We still have to beat UT and OU in the same year to ever matter. If Kansas was legit this year, they lost nobody and we have them on our schedule as well. BTW, Tulsa ditched us. Unfortunately, this is the direction college football is going until we get a playoff and SOS matters.

Basically, it's all about money. Home games = $$$$ [ThumbsDown]

I get the logic of it, I just think it sucks. Kansas would have lost at least 3 games in the Pac 10 last year, but they slid through the Big 12 by luck (avoiding the tough games) and played nobody in nonconference, and they were rewarded. I agree that there are defintely flaws in the system. Shit - outside of Mizzou, they missed everybody good in the Big12. How the hell do you miss OU, Texas and Tech all in one year? The problem is compounded in the Big 12 when you miss the good teams, because the bottom of the conference is terrible.

Honestly, as a Tech fan you've gotta be crying foul on your schedule. The Ducks have recently or will soon do home and homes with Michigan, Oklahoma, Purdue, Georgia, Tenn and the like in nonconference. Even though the system doesn't necessarily reward it, don't you wish Tech would schedule some of these teams?

Whatever. I'm just ticked that all I've got to look forward to between now and fall camp is spring practice and march madness. I'm close to entering the dead part of my sports year. frown

As a college football fan, yes... I wish everyone did this and I also wish SOS was still a factor. In reality though, I'm fine with us doing that if everyone else is. Everyone bought into Kansas's season, but (like you pointed out) they played nobody until they got destroyed by Mizzou (who let them come back a little to make the score look decent) and Virginia Tech. It's all about making that record look good and this gives us a better chance. Besides, I don't think this was even going to be a home and home with LSU which doesn't help us any. Like I said, we have to worry about beating UT and OU in the same year before I start worrying about who we play OCC.
