of course this is after $1500 of work.
I have the tools, place and some know how to do this myself (w/help from XOC). But I had some extra Obama FHB cash left and I really did not want to spend my vacation doing this. So I paid my local mech to do it for me while I spent the week on a Florida beach w/ the family.
My own little economic stimulation.

1) #6 fuel injector was faulting (only one I did not change b/c I did not feel like taking the intake off to get to it)

2) brakes job all around (4th on fronts and 1st on rears)

3) the big one: timing belt w/ all the extras (hosed, belts, water pump, thermostat...harmonic balence (fell apart)

Yes I was gambling big time on the timing belt, 145000miles.

The #6 fuel injector just became to much of a problem to ignore.

I checked my records and I have never replaced the rear brakes. Upon further inspection it became apparent that they had quit working some time back.

Now she is running like a 10 year old 170hp spotted cheetah. Plus stopping a lot better.

I have to bite the bullet on the timing belt as well, I have 127,000 miles on my 03 and I just replaced the plugs, pcv valve, air filter and some new BFG AT Ko's (Got 104,000 miles on my last set). I keep the oil changed regularly.

Anything else I need to be worried about.........

Your distributor. Mine went out about a year ago.

I am running some KOs too. I had some super swampers as my last set. Great in the muck, but terrible on the pavement.

That was one of the things I had them change too.

Good point.

GOT 147,000 MILES ON MY 03.......WITH A LITTLE BIT OF PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE (AND A FEW HUNDRED BUCKS) SHE STILL RUNS LIKE A CHAMP...ALSO, GOT TO THROW OUT THE FACT THAT I PULLED A 04 JEEP RUBICON FROM A 2 1/2 FOOT DEEP WATER/MUD HOLE THE OTHER DAY. THAT FELT GOOD SINCE I'M ALWAYS GETTING CRAP FROM MY BRO. TO GET A JEEP....NOT SO TRAIL RATED NOW HUH!!

146,xxx on my '00 and she runs like the day that I drove her off the lot.

Aside from the recall stuff and 1 minor issue about 100,000 miles ago I've had zero issues with her.

She's had 2 sets of front brakes, 2 sets of tires, 3 spark plug changes/tune-ups and a T-belt/waterpump job and that's it.

Nissan definitely hit the mark with dependability on this X.
My buddy, who's a Nissan salesman, keeps trying to get me to come in and buy another one, but I tell him that there's no need to as long as mine is running like she is! Why get rid of a good truck? wink
