I have an 01. I have the SL on it now, but I want to do more with the X. I like what she can do so far. But I am ready to step it up and move to rock crawling and hit the more troublesome trails. I do take about a 10 hour drive to visit my parents every few months. Would getting the SAS be worth it since I still drive some distance? Or should I wait until I get a DD and trailer?

I drive my SASed Xterra all the time.. do it.

You will get used to the way it drives.

You dont need a trailer, you might still want to get a DD, but that would be a personal preferance.

If you want to take it to the next level, SAS is what you have to do.
