Seeing as you had the corrosion on the post, I would make a point to check the connections, both at the battery as well as the other end of each of the cables. make sure to inspect them all the way from one end to the other, not just at the ends, to make sure there isnt a problem in between the ends, ie: missing insulation , always a chance a critter could have chewed on one.
