This weekend I took my 05' X to the shop to have the new Bilsteins installed.

I decided at this time to leave the Xterra at factory ride height and not lift it any.

However, I ran into a problem. The cup or dish that the front RH & LH springs rest onto with keep moving up and down when going over bumps in the roadway - causing the springs to hit the metal cup on the bottom of it. The rubber bushing that wraps around the bottom of the spring keeps slipping out. This has not happened prior to the old shocks still being on the truck.

The mechanic had to use zip ties to hold the rubber bushing in place at the bottom of the springs - however it keeps snapping and unable to stay in place.

I am unsure if there is a fix for this or if there should be a rubber seat on the bottom of the metal cup that the springs seat onto? Please let me know - as the factory shocks have a cup that is welded to the shock.
