Does anyone run E85 in their X, is it possible to do so? I'm driving a 2003. The reason I ask is there is a gas station close to my house that is selling it for almost a dollar less than regular?

I'm not sure what would happen if you put E85 in it, but definitely nothing good... the VG33 motors were not made for it - don't run it.

E85 requires a "Flex Fuel" engine. Essentially, from what I've read, it is mostly seals that are made of a different material so it can handle the ethanol content without breaking down. That being said, your '03 X is definitely NOT a flex fuel engine. If you run it for any length of time, it WILL cause MAJOR damage to your engine.

Besides, it would be false economy to run it anyway. What a lot of people don't take in to account is that you will only get about 60% of the gas mileage on the E85 of what you get on regular gas. Yes, it's cheaper per gallon, but you'll make up that savings in the extra fuel you'll need to cover the same distance, thus costing you MORE in the long run. And that's the reason it hasn't made the effect it was hoped to do.
