Hi everyone, new guy to the forum here.

Yesterday I noticed that the 2 side rings on my '04 Xterra's exhaust "Y" pipe broke off (due to rust) and are just hanging to each side of the pipe. I looked up the part and it seems these come welded originally. There is no other damage to the pipe and the only noticeable noise is from the rings bouncing around, Can I just cut these rings and "move on with my normal life" or do you recommend replacing the entire pipe ($150 retail value + shop labor).
