can someone enlighten me why batteries are so expensive nowdays, are they putting gold in them now.

Batteries have gone up thanks to the EPA. The EPA now regulates EVERY STAGE AND COMPONENT in a battery. They also regulate the recycling of them. Even the plastic has to be disposed of in a particular, expensive, regulated manner.

In the end, who pays the cost? We the consumer.

someone who used to own a parts store said the good ones cost $$$$. My last one which was around $90. at walmart only lasted 4yrs & I only put 5-10k miles a yr on her. The original lasted 7 yrs. Walmart may be a little cheaper but not the best buy, unless ur gonna dump her in 2-3 yrs.
