just got the 2005 xterra mint condition not a scratch not bad for a first car any way i want to lift it sooner then later im thinking about a 2-3 in lift but want opinions about size of lift and brand name of lifts yes im a massive noob

The best lift for you would depend on why you wanted to get a lift in the first place.

If its to fit larger tires, (larger than 33's) you do a body lift (BL).

If its to just sit taller in the mall parking lot, you can do a cheap suspension lift (SL).

If its to gain ground clearance and/or articulation then you'd do a more involved SL, and so forth.


Essentially there's height, which is a easy part...and, then there's wheel travel, which is where the harder parts are.

For your year X, the real cut point is ~ 2" and over ~2" of SL, as you need different aftermarket UCA to avoid "bucket bang"when gong over that amount of lift.

The BL can be done by itself or with an SL, it's unrelated and doesn't interfere.
