How can I take a company logo, blow it up, and make it clear to read in a powerpoint presentation?

I have Photoshop 7 but can't make it clear enough to read when blown up at a reasonable amount.

Find the original vector version of the logo.

Vector images can be resized without degradation, raster (bitmap) images can not.

A few things that everyone should know, especially if you are working with a designer on a project.

-It is always easier to shrink something than enlarge it (you can't make more pixels from nothing)

-Always start with a large image and shrink to fit your desired size (especially if you are going edit it first)

-For *most* print jobs the original image should be 300 dpi

-For logos, you should always have a vector (.eps) file of it if possible

Now, for your presentation, I'm guessing you are working with what you have. The best you can try is to go to Filter > Sharpen (good luck, it doesn't do that great of a job, and the larger you go from the original size the worse it will be).

Hope that helps, and sorry for the rant, but I get this all the time... frown

"What's our vector, Victor?"
"What's our clearance, Clarence?"

Sorry, it's Friday, and if I didn't type it, I'd have it in my head all afternoon (kinda like with a song) . . .

Actually my wife is the one doing it. She is at work in a meeting and asked if I can try. I don't know if she obtained permission or whatever for the use of the logos. I am sure she did because it is being used for a big presentation with a big national bank.
The companies are NCR, Sun Microsystems, Bellsouth, and Hitachi.

1. Mess around with the resampling methods - try bilinear, nearest neighbor, bicubic etc. Under "image->image size" you'll find those options.

2. Make sure your image is not limited to indexed colors. If you downloaded the pic from a website, there's a good chance it was saved to an indexed or web-based palette. Under "image," click "mode," and if it is not selected, click "RGB." Resampling indexed images is a bad idea, especially when using bicubic resampling (default) because the palette is limited to the colors in the image.
