Yep, you'd be good to go. Analog in to Elura, out of Elura via firewire to PC. Use a little freeware called
DVIO for the transfer, as Type 2 AVI (better for editing than Type 1).
Make sure and have enough hard drive space. DV consumes around 14GB/Hr.
Windows XP has a DV codec built in, so you should be good there, but if you want just a little more flexibility, get the free
Panasonic codec too.
