...and here we have the obligatory and polite first post:

Very stoked here! I traded in my '99 Silverado and picked up the new ride a few weeks ago and it's the newest thing I've ever driven- 146 mls on the OD when I took delivery (as opposed to 149,910 on the money pit I traded in).

We've already gotten her pretty properly dirty like she's meant to be with a weekend kayaking trip to the coast. Haven't fully explored the 4WD yet on mine, but the dealer's demo model did pretty well so I'm pretty confident that I won't be let down when the time comes.

Also: 2006 was a killer year for the Xterra as far as Consumer Reports was concerned for whatever that's worth...

My only disappointment so far has been the factory rack which is rather too narrow to accomplish all I need it to and to which not all Thule goodies mount directly as advertised on Thule's website. I'll be poking around the rest of the forums for solutions to that but meanwhile if anyone happens to have a quick link for economical and/or creative solutions for getting a Castaway rod box and 2 versatile kayak carriers onto this little gem, by all means hook me up please.
