Ok this really pissed me off....

Mom calls and says that her 2000 Maxima needs new shocks. I said Ok how much are they gonna charge you.....$600.00!!!!!! Yes $600.00 to do the rear shocks on her car!!!! I almost jumped out of my seat..luckily she didnt do this.

So I found the parts are only $119.82 so that leaves a pretty hefty labor charge.

I call my wife, who runs the time for me on Mitchell On Demand...wouldnt you know only 2.1 hours of labor should be charged for the job. Even at a high $90.00 per shop hour thats only $189.00 for labor plus parts plus tax = no place close to $600.00!!!!!

Im so pissed I call a local Nissan dealer...only $346.01 out the door..still high but not $600.00 WOW!!!!!!

Luckily my mom didnt do this so I gave her all the information I collected and she is going in to speak with the GM tommorow (my parents do mucho business with them) so hopefully the service advisor scum will get canned.

Lesson for the day children- If your gonna scam someone at least make it somewhat legit and be careful who you piss off.

Tim

PS- Dealerships name intentionally left out to protect place that just might have a bad egg.

Funny you mention this, Tim.

My dad's got a 2000 Maxima and his rear shocks were just replaced as well but for $200. OEM shocks, too.

I understand every business is there to make money but how do you have the balls to try and scam that much? Some places really try (and I'm sure they succeed at times) to scam women, assuming they are just going to be that gullible and just pay. That's pathetic.

Talked to my mom and apparently their long time service advisor has left that particular establishment because of their dealings. She is gonna call him and take her car up to the Nissan store that he works at.

The nerve of some folks!!!!!

URGH!!!

Changing shocks is about as hard as changing a light bulb... that's insane.

Even if they're on struts, go to Auto zone, borrow a spring compressor, and do it yourself in the same amount of time.
