My question is " how many people wave to other xterra owners when you pass each other on the road"? When I used to own a jeep CJ7 and I passed another Jeep we almost always gave each other a wave and I don't find that to be the case with my X. I keep doing it anyway hoping it will eventually catch on.

I believe it's only waving between 2 modded Xterra's

Pull the turn signal stick just barely, *it causes only one (1) headlight to flash. It's the XTERRA wink, wavings for jeepers and the like..

I try to wave at every X I see. They just look at me funny sometimes.

I never do, I tried to when I first got mine, but since I never got a reply wave I stopped. I always do while Im on my motorcycle though.

I do however go out of my way to park next to other X's though.

I wave at the Xterra but they never wave back..bunch of soccer mom

No waves from me. If I saw a modded X on the road they'd get one but we are a scarce bunch, at least on my side of town. I've gotten waves from Cherokee people. They always catch me off guard, but there's no way I'd wave first. I'll also give a nice offroad vehicle of a different species a nod but that's as far as I'll go first.

Same here. When I first bought my x i was sooo excited that i wanted to wave to every other x owner. My girlfriend thought I was a lunatic. I started realizing as I pulled up to a lot of x's that i would be disappointed to see that the driver would be some old lady, or as big blue says a total soccer mom. I started seeing so many people that i wouldnt expect to see in x's that it made me mad and discouraged. I dont wave anymore haha.

I wave at everybody. It keeps them away from me.

When I see another X on the road, I just give 'em the finger, like everyone else.

i would wave if it was a cute guy around my age in a stock or modded X. all the xterras in stockton are stock. im yet to see a modded one ANYWHERE I GO.. sf, sac, san jose, etc. and brush guards and tail light guards dont count as mods in my opinion. i actually look at every xterra i pass and they dont seem to do the same. would be cool if they did wave though.

I take both hands off the steering wheel, steer with my legs and put my arms into an "X" formation with closed fists.... no one ever gets it though....

There are not alot of modded x's in my neck of the woods so I just wave to most of the ones that I see. I find that i get a wave every once in a while but WTF i'm not gonna give up yet,

When I first got my X I got the "shaka" sign from another x owner, so everytime we saw someone we would do the same. Sadly it died off though.

I wave to modifieds only...all others are usually some young girl with stuffed animals on her dash or people who seem oblivious to the fact that they are driving a bad ass vehicle. As they approach, I look for step rails and mudflaps...if either are there, I don't bother.

That is my same basis for wavage too. If they are present, then they are oblivious to awesomeness.

Instead, I just recruit and recruit and recruit. I think that Colorado Springs is now becoming a hub of modified X's. And now, there are more and more here in the Springs and it just continues.
