looking to purchase a 2000 SE Xterra - got a snow plowing job for the winter and want to know if it can handle a 6 foot plow attached to it - thanks for your help!!

a 6 footer? I don't see why it couldn't. I've seen old school Jeep mail carriers with snow plows on them here in Northern IL. If an old mail carried Jeep can handle one and an X can't, I just wouldn't know what to say!

Should work out, it has not been done yet as far as I know.

Western snowplows has a good plow for SUVs. I believe the X is even on their list. 6 foot might be a bit large though. I had one on a half ton and had some trouble in the deep stuff (2 foot plus).

Be sure to upgrade your suspension for it, you might loose a torsion bar (via snap or fatigue) They aren't ment to take the added weight like a large truck without the propper upgrades. Also look into a stearing upgrade, the weight might wear on that a bit more as well. That aside, I would like to see the x plowing if you do it.

Get a nissan titan for that. At least that is what I would do. However the X should be able to handle it to an extent. I really don't know. Give it a try and if you have problems then you will have your answer I guess. And then be sure to come back and let us know.
