Hey, it's a girl!!!! :gasp:

My husband and I just bought (literally, like 2 weeks ago) my dream vehicle, an 05 XTerra OR. At this point I know it's way too much vehicle for me (as far as Off Roading and all that), but I'm sure we'll ease into it and break it in. We got a great deal on it, and so far I'm 100% satisfied.

I just thought I'd put myself out there and make myself known, so that if I ever have any questions, etc, there are people to bounce ideas off of.

So anyways, [Wave]

So what's the demographic here? Mostly mid 20's-30's? What areas are you guys mostly from? (There's a poorly constructed sentence for ya).

Most people's locations are listed. Everyone is all over the U.S. and Canada. A couple from Mexico and one or two overseas.

I think there was a thread a while back where everyone listed their ages and I think it averaged out to be early 30's. 33 - 34 if I recall.

If you invest some time poking around you will find there's lots and lots of info here. And the best thing...

It's all FREE!

Seeing as it hasn't rained here in forever, that may have to wait. [LOL]

Welcome to the fold!

The best way to get eased into the off road thing is to hook up with a local club...in this forum, there a local club section...find one near wher you live, and give them a shout out like you did here.

The clubs give you a chance to talk to the locals about where to wheel, what works and what doesn't in your area...and, the opportunity to help each other work on their trucks, learn how to wheel safely and have fun.

Every body starts as a newbie somewhere...and after a while, you'll be the one helping the ones who come next.

Welcome! [Wave]

Now one observation here. Most of the Newb posts last just a few replies. This one outnumbers them all - and that's not a bad thing. It shows a couple of things. First, if you are active, you'll get more responses. Second, you're in a good area. There's a lot of XOC'ers out there. And third, this board does NOT follow the owner demographics. If you'll look, very few women are on here yet (supposedly) 55% of X owners are female. I wonder if that has anything to do with the responses....

You'll find we are all a great bunch willing to help each other as much as possible. Anything you want to know about your new truck is here, somewhere... Just search or ask (but search first).

"Have a cold one...we're trying to figure out where that post went to...Oh, here it is..."

Anyway, WELCOME!

You got it there Gonzo. If you post on here with a girls nickname like 'Nicole' or 'Angela', you can expect to receive a response in half the time than the same question posted with the nickname 'Fred' or 'George' or 'RiNkY'

So guys, if you need an answer in a hurry, change your nick to 'EzGurl' before posting your question.

Welcome Nicole, we're pretty much a harmless bunch, but there are a few letches out there! smile Yes, you know who you are!!! smile
