About how much would it cost me to lift my truck, put black rims on it, and repaint the entire thing this color:

Hmmm... if you're just going for looks alone you could do a body lift.

3" with gap guards is around $350, 2" is less. A Calmini 3" suspension lift is about $1000 (installation separate.... suspension lift installation is probably cheaper than body lift installation)

Steel rockcrawler wheels run maybe $60 each at 4wheelparts.com. Mud tires can get expensive - but you can get cheap ones if you want. Call it $100-$150 per tire.

You can probably get a decent paint job for a couple grand... though I don't know much about that. I know you can get a shitty paint job from places like MAACO for only a few hundred - but I wouldn't.

Or you could just sell the X and buy one of these

MAACO is good only for a quick new paint job on a car you're trying to get of immediately. Spend the extra $$$ for a good paint job, especially if you are planning on keeping the X around for a long time.

No no... darker magenta pink! Not PB pink. And not pink everywhere... just the body. Tires, rims, everything else would be black.

You might want to keep lift costs down by doing the PML -- the "poor man's lift" which can, in this instance, be dubbed the PWL.

$50 gets you a set of aftermarket shackles that, along with an hour or so of your time to adjust the front suspension, will get you 1.5" of height -- enough to clear 32" tires.

Leaves you more $$$ for additional mods.

Seriously....do the poor man's lift (crank T-bars and get some lift shackles or add-a-leaf) paint that X.....get some black steelies and some aggressive rubber. It would be cool.....and I am serious.

A good paint job, to change the color, is gonna cost 4 or 5 grand. To do it right, a lot of thinks have to be torn apart: doors, door panels, weatherstripping, etc.

But it would look different and get attention.

Yeah... I don't have that kind of money. But I REALLY wanna do it. We'll see.

Seriously, I can't put that much money into my truck now. I just spent $1800 on repairs/maintenance crap. If I win the lotto or get on "Pimp My Ride" or find a cheap deal to get it repainted, I'll definitely do the pink!

I still might get black rims though. I have BFG All-Terrain tires now. Might look cool to have an all black truck.

And, besides, if I paint it pink, I'd have to change my license plate! Maybe it could be "PRTYNPNK"?
