This is my sad situation, i had a low mileage 01 xterra se and last monday someone decided to run a red light and totalled my X. I thought about getting a qx4 or something else, but i loved my white x. I have to get another, is that stupid to buy the same car? Well, anyways, does the supercharged xterra require premium or regular gas? if it takes premium, i will stick to my 01 SE. I am not to fond of the circle headlights but can live with it. Also, does the supercharged cd player, play mp3's? I am thinking of shock blue / white / orange. what is everyones favorite?

One other thing, my 01 white X had 50K miles and had rust on both front doors and tailgate. only a little though. Did they make the '02's any better quality paint / metal than the '01's?

Yes, the SC needs premium.

For 02, Nissan stopped using their highly-regarded "Durasteel" but I don't think any of the Xterras to date are known for any particular rust problems related to the metal or the paint. There's the iron particles that get embedded in the rear hatch during transport, but that's not the same thing. Check the problems/annoyances section...

The SE radio doesn't, and I don't think the XE one does either. You can get an Aux in cable for the XE radio for use with something like an iPod. On the SE, you basically have to replace the radio - something I am considering doing.

I was looking for a shock blue and convinced I really wanted that color, but waited too long and non were available by the time I decided to by (they painted the last shock blue in June and I bought in October).

where i live premium is just 10 cents a gallon more so its not that bad...
