Greetings to everyone!

I've wanted an Xterra since the day they came out. One week ago today I finally took the plunge and puchased a new 2006 Super Black S. I love it more than I could have imagined! From what I've read I got a pretty darn good deal. I held out at the end and even got them to throw in the tow package for half price.

Which leads me to my first post. Now that the tow package is installed I noticed a slight change in the way she handles. It seems to be a bumpier ride and it feels like there's (obviously) more weight in the back now that the hitch is attached. I'm not worried about it, but wondered if anyone else had experienced the same thing.

Thanks to everyone here! This site was a HUGE help in making my decision!

Welcome! You are going to love your X the more you drive it. Regarding the ride with the new hitch...you may want to check your tire pressure to see it they are above 35 psi. Mine were a little hard from the dealer(35+). I now run mine at 32 psi and this feels just right. Don't go much lower than 32 though or with drops in the outside temperature the pressure in your tire may drop and trigger the tire pressure montoring system at around 28-29 psi.

Anyway, a quick tire pressure check can help the ride more than anything.

Enjoy!

John
