That's right boys and girls... I get to have ANOTHER one! A "bi-product" of my original vasectomy (which most of you remember went horrifically wrong) was a "spermatic neuroma." A neuroma is any tumor (benign or malignant) of cells of the nervous system.
Wikipedia says:
"The most common type is a traumatic neuroma, which follows nerve injury (often as a result of surgery). They occur at the end of injured nerve fibres as a form of uneffective, unregulated nerve regeneration; it occurs most commonly near a scar, either superficially (skin, subcutaneous fat) or deep (e.g., after a cholecystectomy). They are often very painful."
This bundle of joy resides at the carteurized end of my Vas, and has grown large enough to cause extreme discomfort. In a nutshell (no pun intended), whenever my wife and I "get busy," it feels as though someone is repeatedly kicking me in the store.
Joy.
Solution? Outpatient surgery under general anasthesia to remove the offending bundle from hell and re-carteurize the Vas. Basically, ANOTHER vasectomy... same recovery, etc. HOPEFULLY with a better end result! Wish me luck...
Folks, don't EVER let a GP do your vasectomy... No matter how many he says he's done. See a Urologist. Period.
