Just bought a cargo liner from an online vendor who advertises in the back of Popular Science

http://www.weathertech.com/

Turned out to be a thin plastic sheet molded a bit to contain debris. Does have a bit more friction than the hard plastic cargo bed but not enough. What I really wanted was a thick soft rubber liner like the Nissan factory floor mats.

This thing cost $100 plus shipping - way overpriced. A fair price would have been maybe twenty bucks.

If you need something like this, I suggest fitting an old piece of carpet back there.

If you must put a liner, get a cheap blanket! My step-dad who drives big rigs for living never leaves a house without a good emergency kit in his car (the normal car, not the rig). A blanket is always with him and I I followed the same steps. Any cheapo blanket is soft and it will protect the interior from scratches. It can be used for its intended purpose when you get stranded. If you need to get dirty, throw a shower curtain on top of the blanket and then discard. Cheap, reliable and can be molded to whatever you want with some ductape.

I 2nd the moving blankets - I always have one in the back of the X to soften the blow of anything I put back there on the plastic floor in the 2nd Gen X's.

The Weathertech Cargo Liner kinda sucks but the front and second seat Floor Liners are great. I replaced my Husky liners with them but did keep the Husky rear Cargo Liner.

Another option: go to Home Depot and pick up some carpet non-skid mats (the rubber kind, not the adhesive kind). They come in various sizes, in black (the photo I found online is beige).

These do an excellent job of keeping stuff planted.

Non-slip drawer liner $3.49 at Harbor Freight (again):

One roll (18" x 72") will cover most of the rear floor.
