I'm so tempted. Comcrap wants to charge me $12 for HD and $12 for the first cable card - the second is free (how gracious of them). Not sure I want to take the plunge... but I'm seriously getting sick of Standard Definition on my HDTV...

At least your cable provider will provide a cable card. Cox here in Phoenix don't even do Cable Cards

Wow - wasn't aware of that. I guess the FCC rules go into affect July 1st tho. Bet your ass I'm gonna call Cox on July 1st and get a cable card in that case. No doubt they will still charge as much as they do for a cable box tho

Just like all good things....they have to support them, but they don't have to make it easy or affordable to get one.
